Most lawns don't fail all at once. They slowly thin out, weeds move in, and bare patches spread until the whole front yard just looks rough. That's exactly what was happening here - a front yard with patchy, weed-choked turf that no amount of fertilizer or patching was going to fix long-term.

When a lawn gets to that point, the honest answer is a fresh start. So that's what we did. We pulled out the old struggling turf and installed Palisades Zoysia - a warm-season turfgrass that's a great fit for North Texas homes. It handles the summer heat well, holds its color, and grows in thick enough to naturally crowd out weeds over time.

The sod lines up tight to the stone-edged beds and concrete walks, which keeps the finished look clean. Getting those edges right matters just as much as the grass itself. A sloppy edge can make even good sod look like an afterthought.

After establishment, the first mowing revealed exactly what we were after - a dense, even stand of grass with a rich green color and uniform texture across the whole front yard. That's what Palisades Zoysia does when it's installed right and given time to root in.

Your front lawn is the first thing people see. It sets the tone for everything else. Patching a bad lawn usually just delays the inevitable - sometimes a clean install is the smarter move, and the results speak for themselves.
